While none of it would need to effect gameplay, it would add a ton of flavor to the game. As the invasion becomes more threatening different countries will declare martial law, build shelters, halt air travel/create no-fly zones, create military initiatives, and perhaps eventually descend into anarchy as the leadership is picked off. Right now the UFOs will raid towns and blow up airliners, but it would be cool to see the world's response to these actions. I would love to see a lot more detail concerning daily events in a 'Plague Inc'-esque fashion. The graphics definately need to be changed because they often become lost in the environment, the same goes for weapon shots, really pronouned in Xenonauts 1, they are very hard to see in the demo. The game doesn't feel as fluid as you currently can't select units while they are moving, among other things. It adds an authentic feel that I don't think would be present in a more fictional setting.Īs much as I enjoy the 3D view, it has a few drawbacks (which undoubtedly will be fixed in time). I'm glad you guys decided to stick with the cold war setting. The project will eventually go paid (which is when it will appear on Steam), but only once we have the strategy layer functioning and linked in with the ground combat. Our release schedule is currently to release a new build every two weeks (on every second Tuesday). The builds currently just show a single ground combat mission, but we will be adding new content and mechanics on a regular basis. The game is actually available free at the moment, mostly because it is at such an early stage of development that we don't think should be charging for it yet.
